Melissa Karch, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified LEAP Therapist

Melissa is passionate about helping people with chronic conditions improve their health through diet and nutrition. She believes that the power of food is often underestimated and that there should never be a “one size fits all” diet. Melissa uses an integrative and functional approach to individualize each patient’s nutrition plan and help them get to the root cause of their health problems.

With over 20 years of experience, Melissa has supported a wide variety of diseases and conditions with her nutrition expertise. Over her career, she has worked in large medical centers as well as smaller community hospitals across the country. She has provided nutrition support in the areas of oncology (cancer) and bone marrow transplant, cardiovascular disease, weight loss, and now specializes in gastro-intestinal conditions, autoimmune diseases, food allergies & sensitivities and individualized nutrition supplementation. She opened Nutrition Dynamix in 2011.

Melissa received her nutrition & dietetics degree at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota and completed her dietetic internship at the world-renowned John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She continues to expand her knowledge every day and has completed further education to become an integrative and functional medical nutrition therapist. Her goal is to help patients correct the root causes of their health problems instead of applying band aids.

She lives in Longmont with her husband and two teenage sons. Melissa enjoys being outside to take in the beautiful Colorado scenery…trail running, snowboarding, and stand- up paddling. She also plays competitive tennis. Travel is a passion, and she is always planning her next adventure!

You will frequently find her in her kitchen, incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into as many new recipes as possible. Melissa knows that “food is medicine” and she tries to use it to promote a healthy lifestyle for herself, her family, AND her patients!

Melissa’s nutrition specialties include:

  • Gastro-intestinal conditions
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Chronic inflammatory conditions
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Histamine intolerance
  • Food allergies & sensitivities
  • Vegetarian nutrition
